Junior National Team Cross Country Team Opportunities in 2016

USATF has two oppoutunities junior age (under 20) athletes to represent the United States in cross country events in 2016. Below is information from USATF:

Junior National Team Cross Country Team Opportunities
USA Track & Field will be offering two international cross country national team opportunities for Junior Athletes in 2016. 
 
In order to be eligible to be a member of the Team, an athlete must:
  • Be a citizen of the United States and meet all other USATF and IAAF eligibility requirements.
  • Be a USA Track & Field member in good standing.
  • Have a valid passport that will not expire prior to December 31 2016.
  • Sign a USATF Athlete Statement of Conditions for participation, if nominated for the Team.
  • For Juniors Not be 20 years old, but at least 16 years of age on December 31, 2016.
 
2016 USA National Junior Cross Country Teams:
·      January 9, 2016Great Edinburgh International Team Challenge will be conducted in Edinburgh, UK. Events include: junior women's 4 km & junior men's 6 km. Athletes (6 male & 6 female) will be selected by the USATF Cross Country Council based upon performances at national level Fall 2015 cross country championship events (e.g., USATF, collegiate, and high school events). ·      March 5, 2016Pan-American Cross Country Cup will be conducted in Carabella, Venezuela. Events include: junior women's 6 km & junior men's 8 km. Athletes will select themselves by order of finish at the 2016 USA Cross Country Championships in Bend, Oregon on February 6, 2016. Athletes planning to qualify for and attend the Pan American Cup should be available for travel between March 1-6, 2016. All athletes should come to the Championships with a U.S. passport valid through December 31, 2016. Juniors must bring a copy of their birth certificate. If you qualify for a team, you will be asked before you leave the Championships to complete all required USA National Team Processing forms.
